<p>Copper red glaze over stone ware. The level of red is dependant on oxygen levels in the kiln late in the firing stage and is extremely variable. The colours on this vase indicates oxygen levels were higher on one side of the vase.</p>

<p>A small bowl made by Kiyotaka Hashimoto in an intense wabi-sabi style, both delicate and rough.</p>
<p>Parts of the glaze are unfinished, highlighting the natural appearance of the iron rich clay.</p>
<p>Burn marks from the kiln and an imperfect symetry also evidence the making process in this very traditional, perhaps even esoteric, style of Japanese ceramic.</p>
